Christmas visit to California

 We headed off to California to visit my family for the holidays.  We had the scariest drive we've ever had on the way there going over the pass.  We had all wheel drive, but no snow tires, and we were sliding all over the place.  Luckily it was one or so in the morning, so there weren't many other drivers on the road.  We were very grateful and feeling extremely blessed when we made it to the other side safely.  We drove to Folsom that first night to spend a couple of days with Mike and Alison.

 The next night we went with the Helquist's to the Folsom City Zoo to see the animals and visit with Santa!

 When we got to my mom's house Kaylee got her first solid food, rice cereal!  She was messy, and a little unsure what to think, but ended up loving it.

 Our room at my mom's house.  Lucas was excited to sleep on the blow up mattress instead of in the playpen for the first time.  He's growing up way too fast, they all are!!!

 The kids got to open an early present of pajamas from Grandma Karen.  They were all so excited to sleep in them that night.  Trinity and Emilyn loved to match!

 Lucas bonded with Mike during our visit.  He thought he was hilarious!

 Riding the steam train while at the zoo in Folsom.  Lucas was over the moon excited about it.  He was shaking with happiness when the train started moving.  We tried to take a picture of him with the steam engine, but he was so excited he kept jumping and moving so the pictures were blurry!

 Dinner and dessert with Uncle Chunk and Grandma Karen at an old favorite from when I was younger, The Ice Cream Factory.  The girls were pretty happy about their clown ice creams!

 Sledding with the family at Dell Osso Farms.  Kaylee took a nice nap in her stroller with Grandma Karen close by so that we could all sled together.  It was so fast, and so much fun.  We went over and over again until our time was up.  Lucas was pretty nervous at first, but by the end was a little speedster!
