It was actually really nice this year to not have to pack and travel. We tried to appreciate the down time, and let the holiday soak in. We spent the day before Christmas Eve with Matt's family. They booked the church so that we would have enough room. The cousins had so much fun running all over together. We had yummy food, a chocolate fountain, presents, Wii play, balls, nerf gun fights, a popcorn machine (as you can see Matisyn and David enjoying mouthfuls!), and a visit from Santa. Christmas Eve we just had a quiet night at home. We made a really good ham dinner and drove around and looked at lights. Matisyn slept in on Christmas morning, but when she finally woke up and realized it was Christmas, she was ecstatic to come down to the train she asked Santa for, as well as a big jump castle. She was so into her Santa presents that we didn't even get to the presents from mom and dad until the next day. We went to breakfast at Bryan and Reagans, and then spent Christmas night at Matt's parents. There are so many cousins now that it was quite the production. All the kids were loving the festivities together, and they had fun opening lots of great presents from Grandpa and Grandma. We're grateful to have lots of family close by.
