Lucas is making the girls look like light weights! Matisyn was 15 lbs 6 oz and 24 1/2 inches and Emilyn was 14 lbs 10 oz and 24 inches long. He is a full two pounds heavier and two inches longer than Emilyn was and a pound and a half heavier and an inch and a half longer than Matisyn at four months. Wow! We sure love this little chunk! He is proportional with his 80th percentile in both height and weight, and as adorable as they come!
Here are some things about him right now:
- He is the sweetest, most content baby around. He loves faces and expressions, sometimes likes toys, is happy in his car seat, and is content to just look around and check things out.
- Loves to be held, but is happy to sit in his bouncy seat, papasan chair, or just lay and kick his legs. Just recently started to play in his exersaucer toy and he loves that too
- He will sometimes take a binky, and sometimes wants his hand, the best of both soothing worlds. He tries to shove his whole fist in his mouth. He can sometimes find his thumb.
- He had a rough sleeping at night patch, but seems to be doing better. Waking around 2 or 3, then back down until 5 or 6, occasionally 7. He wants to stay awake at that time, but we can catch a little more sleep most mornings by putting him in the middle of our bed and letting him bang on our arms and talk to us. He is an early riser! On bad nights he is up around 3 times to eat, and good nights he wakes up once. I get pretty tired, but seem to be handling it alright. I appreciate my little alarm clock on weekdays when I need to get up with the girls anyway. He starts the night in his crib in his own room, and then after his first feeding I put him in the playpen in our room. I haven't been able to move him all the way out of our room yet.
- He loves holding and grabbing things, but gets frustrated that he can't always get them to his mouth or when he pulls binkies or toys out of his mouth and can't get them back in.
- He has a full belly laugh and giggles and smiles ALL the time.
- He is great in his car seat and takes great, long naps in there. He is good on errands and taking the girls all over. He just sleeps or talks in his seat. If he gets upset we can use the binky.
- He thinks his sisters are so funny and is super tolerant of how they are with him. They adore him, but they can be loud and wild.
- Loves to stand and put weight on legs.
- I'm reading Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child again and I'm trying to establish a little more of a schedule. I'm still pretty relaxed with him though. He hardly ever cries. I think that's a combination of his being an amazing baby and me jumping at his every whim. We love this baby boy!
- He still takes his reflux medicine, and is much happier when we remember, but he is not as sad as before if we forget. I hope that means he is getting better and won't need it much longer.
- No signs of rolling yet, except a little to the sides. We probably should give him more tummy time so he can have more chances to roll to his back. My mom discovered during her visit that he can already sit on his own and hold his balance for short periods of time.
- He loves to be held and look at all of our faces, but he LOVES his Mommy. I can usually calm him and make him smile when other things won't work.
- He has cried more often lately as he is getting a little older, but he doesn't cry often in general or loudly, only when is is hurt or hungry. He talks a lot in coos and sighs and goo goo's!
