I wanted to make the most out of our last week of summer so I let the girls choose something to do everyday the week before school started. We went to the Dinosaur Museum on Monday, school shopping on Tuesday, the Farm on Wednesday, to see the movie Planes on Thursday, went on a trip to Lava Hot Springs over the weekend, and to the Children's Gardens on Monday. It was a full week, but we had fun together. I am ready for school to start because the girls are starting to fight more than play, and they need some breaks from each other, plus I'm ready for a schedule again. It's hard to give up the freedom though, and it's sad to have Matisyn gone so much during the day. I'm glad we enjoyed a great last week together before the schedules, appointments, homework, etc. begin again.
Our last little get away was so much fun too. We spent the weekend in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. We had never been, and it was fun to explore the little town. We met three other families there, and stayed in my friend Ashly's Aunt and Uncle's cabin. It was a great cabin, and in a beautiful place. On Saturday we spent a few hours in the pool complex. It has huge pools, water slides, and diving boards. Matt went off the 30 ft. jump. We also floated the river, which was the highlight for our family. Emilyn started off nervous, and by a few minutes in was giggling and so happy. Both girls loved the whole thing. The first run we went as families, rotating so the babies could stay behind, and the second run the dads took all the kids. We finished up our day at the hot springs. They are really just like hot pools. By the time we got back to the cabin it was 8:00 and the kids were falling asleep in their dinner! A much different scene than the night before when they were running in and out and playing until midnight. The cabin had a yert and that was a definite favorite place to play for the kids throughout the weekend. We cleaned up and headed home on Sunday morning. We had such a great time, and we arrived home just in time to get ready for school to start in a couple of days.
