Reno and Folsom Visits

Matt had a conference to attend for work in Reno the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving at the Nugget.  We took the opportunity to leave a few days early and join him.  We had some family time at the Discovery museum and at the hotel arcade, and then we rented a movie and had dinner in the room while Matt went to his conference that night.  The next morning we went swimming while he was finishing up, and then drove in to Folsom to visit with the Helquist's.  We had a fun few days breaking up our ride!

Lucas LOVED this big window.  He could walk all along in front of it, and see out for miles and lots of floors down.  Trucks and trains were his favorite things to announce finding.  This kept him entertained the whole time we were in our hotel room!

The Discovery Museum was a lot of fun, and had things for all the kids to see.  Lucas loved the airplane, and the girls loved climbing in the big structure.

We spent the most time in this little room creating turkey launchers!  Matt worked with the girls while I tried to contain Lucas's destruction.  He was happiest when he found the electric set with the flying discs!

After Matt was finished we packed up and drove to Folsom.  I was still battling a pretty bad cold so I wasn't super exciting, but we don't need to do much to have a great time with these friends.  We hung out at the house and let the kids play the first day, and spent some time at the park the next day.  Alison and I managed to get a fabulous night out though.  She took me for a very fancy pedicure for my birthday, and then we went out to dinner just the two of us while the Dads held down the fort.  That was a pretty big highlight!  Lucas and Cora even hit it off this trip!

Everyone has a buddy when we visit!  It took some effort, but we finally got a picture with everyone looking!

Lucas can't get enough of driving "trucks" with Daddy.  The RC car hobby that Mike spread to Matt has actually been quite fun since Lucas is included too!
