Emilyn is 11 Months

She was mad that I kept trying to get her attention for pictures. She has things to do and things to look at. She likes to stand up with the little walker, but she's not quite sure how to walk with it yet.


Eleven things about Emilyn:

• She can stand up for a short time on her own now. She looks so proud, and then sits down when she realizes what she is doing. She pulls herself up to a stand on everything, so walking along the furniture can't be far behind. Her favorite spot is to stand up and lean against the sliding door so she can look out.
  
• She is becoming dramatic like her sister, and yes that does worry me a little! But she has an adorable little personality.
  
• She is SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT now, which is fabulous. Once in a while she gets up to eat once in the early morning, but for the most part she is sleeping 7 or 8 at night to 7 or 8 in the morning. She is still taking two naps a day, but they are getting shorter.
• She still loves her bed and will pretty much only sleep there. She smiles when you put her in her crib, and hardly ever cries when you walk out. She likes to be given her blanket, her ducky, or some other snuggly, and her wind up music pillow.
• She loves to read, and especially loves books that have bright colors and things to feel. She'll sit and listen to a whole Dr. Seuss book now (the short versions).
• She still LOVES her big sister, even though she drags her around the house by her ankles, picks her up, takes things away from her, etc. It might make her cry, but she's over it quickly. She smiles and giggles when Matisyn gives her positive attention and loves to play with her. Matisyn also gives her lots of loves, shares her toys, and showers her with kisses.
  
• Emilyn is starting to have some stranger danger anxiety, and she still wants me most of the time, but she's pretty happy to have attention from anyone.
• She is nursing three times a day, and biting (she has three teeth now), so we'll see how long it lasts, and when it comes to real food she can out eat Matisyn most days. Once in a while I still give her baby food too. She LOVES cheese, yogurt, and pretty much any kind of fruit, but she'll eat almost anything I give her. Her favorite treat is the baby yogurt puffs.
• She crawls all over the house now, quickly. She doesn't seem to be aware of depths yet, and so she will go right over the edge of the couch or right off the top of the stairs if you aren't watching her. Everything she sees while crawling around goes straight into her mouth, and she especially loves shoes, Matisyn's small toys, and random, dangerous objects left on the floor.
• She is starting to play a little more on her own and let me get some things done, but she still mostly wants my constant attention and follows me around crying, trying to crawl up my leg, if she doesn't get it. I'm happy for the few minutes she'll give me, and I enjoy the play time with her anyway.
• Emilyn is happiest outside. If she is cranky inside, she will most likely cheer up if we go outside. I'm looking forward to more warm weather. I think we'll spend a lot of time outside with my two outdoor girls. She likes to go on walks in her stroller, and I would say her favorite thing to do is SWING.
  
• She is full of giggles, and cracks herself up, as well as everyone else around her. She thinks pretty much everything I do is hilarious and she is always clapping her hands. She is a smiley, chubby, little thing and we love her to pieces!
