Christmas Morning

We were up so late on Christmas Eve that the girls slept in the next morning.  Emilyn surprisingly woke up before Matisyn around 8:00, we could only entertain her for so long in our room until we headed in to wake up Matisyn just before 9:00.  Matt and I were the first to wake up!
We came downstairs and Santa had managed to find our house, and leave presents for the girls.  We had a really nice day together, relaxing and opening presents.  We didn't go anywhere until that night so we just took it slow.  We played with the presents from Santa, stopped to have breakfast, opened some more, then Emilyn took a nap and Matisyn played with her tea set, opened a few more, etc.  It was nice to be able to go at our own pace.  I tried to buy less this year, but I still went a little overboard.  I'll try to do better again next year!  They were both so excited and fun to watch this year.

 Matisyn had to have a Dorothy dress, luckily Santa got the message and brought one for her.  We're not sure where that Christmas wish came from, but we have since watched The Wizard of Oz multiple times!

 Between the two girls and different gift givers, the girls ended up with 10 dolls total this year.  A little excessive, but they do both love dolls right now!  Santa brought Matisyn a walking, talking doll that Emilyn adored immediately and Matisyn is just now days later starting to appreciate. 

 Emilyn kept riding around on her new plasma car carrying her bath baby from Santa.

 The one thing that Matisyn consistently asked for over and over again was a unicorn pillow pet.  She was so excited when she unwrapped it and realized what it was; she was screaming and rolling around hugging it!  Emilyn got a doggie pillow pet, because she loves puppies.

The girls helping me open a present from Daddy.  We decided that our big present to each other would be our 10 year anniversary trip that we plan on taking this Spring, but we still exchanged some little things.  He got me a restaurant gift card to La Jolla Groves and Rumbi Grill, some lotions, and a cookbook for my K-Tec blender.  He did good!  I got him some games, clothes, and a gift card to Cabelas.  He's excited to pick out something himself, I couldn't decide.

 Emilyn opening her Sesame Street doctor kit.  She has loved checking our ears, saying beep, beep, like the thermometer we use on her.  She also loves Cookie Monster checking our heart, bump, bump, ba bump bump. 

 There was a pink and purple theme this year.  I got Matisyn a Corolle doll with pink hair and Emilyn one with purple hair.  Their plasma cars are also purple and pink.  Matisyn has said since Emilyn was tiny that purple is Emilyn's favorite color since we had painted her room that color, and that her favorite was pink, and it just stuck.

 After all that excitement a little bit of break down is inevitable.  Above she is throwing a tantrum about something, and seconds later when she saw the camera she stopped her tantrum to say "cheese."
