Dear
Family and Friends,
Another
year has almost gone by and 2012 brought us many fun things as individuals and
as a family. We decided to send our holiday greetings a little early this year,
along with the announcement of our sweet baby boy that arrived last month.
Here are some of the highlights from 2012:
Matt
Favorite Things: Exploring
the mountains and desert on his motorcycle, Saturday mornings when the girls
realize I don’t have to go to work, playing with Matisyn and Emilyn, date
nights with Kristin, new baby smell (it is fantastic!), my girls getting their
Jr. Ranger badges in Zion NP.
Least Favorite: Leaving
two ‘begging me to stay’ girls almost every morning at breakfast, my Dad’s
Liver, the late, late shift with baby brother.
2012 Highlights: 100-mile
mtn. bike ride through Canyonlands, new baby boy
Hopes for 2013:
Better fitness goal execution,
Adventures with the family, Disneyland!
Kristin
Favorite Things: Snuggling with new baby, playing puzzles
with Emilyn, reading with Matisyn, small amounts of QUIET amidst the noise,
pictures, organizing, a clean house, date nights with Matt, girl nights,
epidurals that work, reading, traveling, movies
Least Favorite: Messes, whining, mealtime battles,
sisters fighting, Matt’s motorcycle trips, Matisyn cutting her own hair for the
6th time
2012 Highlights:
Healthy pregnancy and healthy baby boy, “meal swap” with friends, kitchen
remodel, Avila Beach vacation
Hopes for 2013: Health and happiness for my family, liver
for Matt’s dad, cancer free friend,
magical cleaning fairy, time to spend with my
family, sleep…
Matisyn
Favorite Things: Science experiments, Wii Star Wars,
singing and performing, gymnastics, fancy hair, praise, playing with friends, holding
baby, helping, games and imagination, decorations, swimming, cousins, Smurfs, crafts,
shows
Least Favorite: Eating food if it isn’t a treat or
watermelon, slowing down to sleep, being cold
2012 Highlights: Playing soccer for the first time,
indoor season and outdoor, playing basketball for the first time, starting
first grade and going to school all day, eating lunch at school and getting two
recesses, learning to read, finally learning her back bend and cart wheel, losing
her first two teeth
Hopes for 2013: Learn
karate (ninja level!), learn a handspring, a house made out of candy
Emilyn
Favorite Things: Star Wars, everything My Little Pony,
I-pad, finding teenager shows on the i-pad that Mommy turns off, princesses,
dance parties, riding bikes, changing brother’s diaper, park, Dinosaur Museum, blankets,
swimming, yogurt, chewing gum, acting like a teenager
Least Favorite: Two surgeries- ear tubes in and adenoids
out and a bladder reflux surgery, being told “no”
2012 Highlights: Potty training at the beginning of the
year, moving into a big girl bed, sharing room with big sister, learning to
swim, soccer, starting preschool and dance class
Hopes for 2013: ride a pedal bike, more time to herself
with Mommy and Daddy, Disneyland
Lucas
Favorite Things: Being held, the song Twinkle Twinkle
Little Star, milk, middle of the night time with Mom and Dad
Least Favorite: Being cold, being put down…ever
2012 Highlights: Being born, getting gas out
Hopes for 2013: Learning to roll over, crawl, walk and
talk!
