We had such a special day for Matisyn's baptism.  Even with a crazy morning of finishing preparations, we managed to make it to the church ready and on time.  Matisyn was glowing with excitement, and couldn't wait until her big moment.  Grandma Karen flew in for the weekend, just to be there for her baptism, and we were so grateful and happy to have her with us.  We had a lot of other family and friends to support her there as well.  It's hard to believe that she is 8, and old enough to be baptized!

I put some pictures up, one from each year since she was born.  It was fun to see her grow up throughout the past eight years.

Aunt Becky and Uncle Dave couldn't make it to the baptism, but Becky made her a special Barbie princess cake, just as requested.  Matisyn was elated with the cake and couldn't believe how beautiful it turned out.  We are so grateful to her for her time and effort to make it so wonderful!

Matt was so happy to be able to baptize his first baby girl!  He said it was a real privilege to get to do that for his own daughter.

Right after she was baptized, getting ready in the dressing room.  Aunt Megan saved the day and came in and put some quick braids in Matisyn's hair.  She loved them!

Matisyn shared a program and was baptized with her friend and our neighbor, Bryton.

Here are all our family and friends that were able to come and support Matisyn.  Mike, Wendy, Kenzie, and Cassidy, KC, Kiersten, Lexi, and Madilynn, Grandma Barb, Grandma Karen, Megan, David, Sam, and Abby, Ashly, Lillie, and Cooper, Mike, Alison, Jens, Sylvie, and Baby Cora (we were so excited that they decided to come visit a day early so they could make it, such good friends!), Matt, Amanda, Logan, Jack, and Brody, Blake, Cora, Emma, Jamison, and Olivia (who left their Spring break trip early to make it!)  We are very blessed, and Matisyn felt very loved and supported!

Uncle Mike gave the talk on baptism and did a fantastic job!

We put together a last minute musical number with Cassidy, Kiersten, Lexi, Madilynn, and Matisyn.  We didn't have much time to practice so I had no idea how everything would turn out.  The girls sang "A Child's Prayer" and even harmonized with the two verses together at the end.  They were absolutely beautiful!  I had tears in my eyes, and it was the first time that day I felt like I could soak in my little girl's big day and appreciate what it means for her.  Matisyn was so happy and proud to be up singing with her big girl cousins, and I'm happy that these girls were all willing to jump in without time to practice.

Matisyn's primary teachers gave her the special plaque with her name and the sacrament cup.  It is such a neat tradition that they do, and a special memory for her to put in her room.

Man, this boy is handsome!  He was not well behaved during the program, and got shuffled back and forth between people so that we could listen.  He was an angel for the rest of the day of course!

We had sandwiches, macaroni salad, two fruit salads (thank you Amanda and Wendy!), chips (many choices thanks to Grandma Barb!), and pink lemonade to eat after the program.  It was so nice to have my mom here to help get everything made and put together!  I don't think I would have made it without her!

The cake was so pretty we had to take lots of pictures with it before we cut it open!

After the party Matisyn wrote her feelings into her baptism keepsake book.  "The church is true and so is the Holy Ghost.  The Holy Ghost helps you to choose the right.  CTR.  When I was baptized I felt like this, cold (the water), happy, blessed, and strong."
