Happy Easter!

We had a really nice Easter this year.  It was Conference Sunday so we were able to be home in our pajamas listening to talks and inspiration instead of rushing off to church, which was nice.  We came downstairs to find that the Easter Bunny had visited.  He left all the kids a basket and hid some eggs outside.  Matisyn came out of her room fully dressed first thing in the morning because she looked out her window and spotted the eggs.  She wanted to be prepared!  They were all very excited to search through their baskets and discover what the Bunny brought.  Matisyn got her two favorite Easter candies, Peeps and Jelly Bellies, so she was happy!  She is also the most expressive, and was so excited about everything!  The girls also got swim suits, goggles, caps, a game, and a few other misc things.  The eggs were all filled with different candy.  Lucas was most excited about Cranky the Crane.  He has carried him around everywhere since then!  My favorite moment was him finding Cranky waiting for him!

We had a good egg hunt outside.  The girls found most of the eggs.  Lucas would find one egg and then sit down and eat whatever was inside, which really slowed his progress!  We gave him a cheater day on his allergies (not on peanuts, of course), and he spent a very happy day eating his weight in chocolate and jelly beans.  He sadly paid for it for the next couple of days.  Once in a while he just needs to be able to be a kid and enjoy some candy though!

We spent the rest of the morning watching conference, and the kids checked out their new things and ate treats.  We headed over to Grandma Barbs for Easter dinner, and more egg hunting.  She is always so creative.  This year she cut out pictures for the eggs and the kids had to make a bingo with the pictures before they could open one of their presents.  She did two bigger presents for everyone, including the adults, instead of all the candy.  It was really thoughtful for Lucas, who usually has to feel left out of things like that, and fun for everyone too!  We had the traditional bunny cake for dessert with homemade ice cream.  It was a delicious and fun day for all of us!

 We found a tiny slug on one of the eggs.  Part of the adventure of an outside egg hunt!

 Lucas got tired and lay down on his blanket on the floor.  Matt thought it would be funny to dump the basket of candy around him, like he was sleeping off his sugar rush!  Only he didn't think it was very funny!  It made him cry.  He was so stressed out about the candy being dumped out, he didn't settle down until it was all picked up!  He loved that candy!
