This day has always meant more to me than pinching, wearing green, and Leprechauns because it's my Dad's birthday. I keep him in my thoughts a little extra on days like these. It's hard to believe how much has changed since he passed away and how much he has missed. I like to at least remind my girls of him on days like his birthday, since neither of them got to know him. We have had a Winger's tradition every year because my Dad always liked to eat there when he visited, but we didn't make it this year.
We celebrated the morning with "surprise" green oatmeal. How do those Leprechauns sneak in? Matisyn thought it was awesome and Emilyn didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary! We got to spend the afternoon playing at the bounce house place, Monkey Island, with Lisa, Porter, and Khloe. Matisyn wanted to still be able to celebrate with Porter even if he couldn't come to the "Princess" girls only party. They are such cute little friends. They ran all over together, bouncing, jumping and sliding. The little girls, Emilyn and Khloe, were a little more cautious, but got more confident toward the end. By the time we were leaving Emilyn was climbing the big slides all by herself. Happy St Patrick's Day!
