Maui
March 21 (Beach Day)

 "Lil' Diver" was fun to store in our room all week!  He brought lots of entertainment while we were there.  Lucas woke up all of the rest of the mornings around 5:00 am.  I tried to just let him wander the room, but he kept tripping on stuff (like the whale) and trying to ride him which was hard to sleep through!  We usually all ended up awake that early with him.

 We saved some money by choosing an obstructed view room, which meant we had construction outside our window from 7:00 to 5:00 or so.  Since we woke up so early we had plenty of time to enjoy our view before the noise started, and we were never back until they were gone for the day.  So it turned out to be just fine for us!  They upgraded my mom's room when we got there, and Matisyn kept asking why Grandma gets a room without trucks outside!!!  As you can see Lucas thought it was a perfect view.  One morning he escaped while I was changing his diaper to check things out!  The view on either side of the construction was beautiful.  Ocean view to one side, and green plants and mountains the other direction. 

 I love this picture!  It is rare to get everyone slowed down and looking at the camera at the same time.  Especially Lucas.  Plus it makes it seem like hotel time was swell time, and I'll just try to remember it that way!  The truth is much louder!  We avoided our neighbors at all costs, although we're pretty sure anyone who was in rooms next to us would have asked to be moved by the end.  Lucas cried most mornings until we left the room and then he was the happiest boy ever the whole rest of the day.  He loves to be outside!

 We spent our third day down at the beach by John and Ayme's hotel, The Sheraton.  They had a great beach for kids to swim and play in the waves and a good place to snorkel.  Matisyn snorkeled for the first time, and although she was a little nervous and cold, she had a great time.  We swam with turtles and saw lots of pretty fish.  Lucas and Felicity worked on covering themselves with sand from head to toe!  They were very successful.  All the kids loved playing in the sand for hours.  They went back and forth from building in the sand and playing in the water.

 Lucas loved the watering can.  He would hold it up and make desperate sounds until somebody took pity on him and ran down to the water to fill it up for him.  He would happily pour it out and then ask for more again.  Matt built a mote to keep the babies contained and it worked pretty well for Lucas.  He was content to play in his area as long as he had the sand toys and could check out everything going on around him.

 On the walk home from the beach we spotted a rainbow, so beautiful!

 We passed these camels each day on the way down to the pool or beach from our room.  Emilyn had to ride them, and Lucas always roared at them!

On the way home we picked up fish n chips (the best ever) and a fruit plate (such delicious pineapple, papaya, mango, and a few things I have no idea what they were!) and took them to eat at the pool while the girls got in some more swimming.  Everyone crashed hard that night.
