Emilyn's first day of Kindergarten!

Emilyn's first day of Kindergarten!

Emilyn couldn't wait to start big girl school like her big sister!  She had to wait an extra week, so we tried to keep busy and distract her from the wait.  She looked so grown up on her first day with her new backpack, all ready for her big day.  Her best friends are in another classroom, but she knows a few kids, and hasn't seemed to mind.  She finds them to play with at recess.  She loves her teacher, seems to enjoy her little homework assignments (especially if Mom gets to do them with her!), has started sounding out words and learning to read, and comes home happy each day.

 Big sister helped her be brave and walk down the red carpet.  This is a fun thing the school does for the kids on the first day of school.  There are balloons, music, and cheering as they walk the carpet!

 Looking a little nervous for the first time when she sat down at her desk that morning.  She chose the red table, and sits with three boys.  She hasn't seemed to mind, and red is her favorite color.  It was hard to leave her, but she seemed fine with me going.
