Lucas is 2 1/2!

Lucas is 2 1/2!

• He loves tractors the most!  Diggers, front loaders, excavators, cranes and dump trucks are the best.  He loves all things that move, smash, and dump though.  Trains, trucks, cars, "cycles," fire engines (whee whoos), and garbage trucks are all great to him!
• He likes to take a bag of tractors or cars with him where ever we go, along with his binky and blankie.
• He loves animals, especially animals with big teeth in books, like alligators, lions, and dinosaurs.
• We check out books from the library quite a bit and he always chooses animal, car, and tractor books.
• He starts most sentences with "me."  "Me do it"  "Me want that" "Me going to see the tractors"
• The way he talks is adorable, and I know I will miss it when all the baby leaves him.
• He says "no thank you" when he doesn't want something, and thank you when you give him something.  He's a pretty polite little guy.
• He has started to throw some two year old tantrums and have some stronger opinions, but only occasionally and they are usually very quick.
• He will play in the sandbox for a long time all by himself.  He insists on taking all of his tractors out with him and then wants me to wash them each time so they can come back inside.
• He loves the water and swimming, and has to be watched closely.  He jumps right in without anybody there to catch him.  He jumps right off the side and off the diving board.
• He thinks everything happened "last night" even if it was happening right now or two weeks ago.
• He thinks all meals are dinner "dinnah,"
• He has started to like the ipad and kindle.  He never used to be interested.  He even plays games, and he can navigate them pretty well.  He likes to trace his letters, play games with shapes, Leonard and Monkey Lunchbox.
• His favorite shows are "Mighty Machines," "Animal Mechanicals," and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally."  He also loves when his Daddy puts on any youtube movies with tractors, smashing, digging, crushing, or buildings demolishing!  He will most often choose to watch a movie of an actual tractor working over a kid cartoon.
• He does not sit still!  
• He handles his allergies pretty well, and will tell you "that give me tummy ache" if he sees a food he knows he shouldn't have.  Sometimes he tries to convince you that it won't give him a tummy ache or "please have just one" if it looks delicious enough to take the risk!
• He can't wait until Daddy gets home at night, and is sad when he leaves for work in the morning, but he almost always prefers Mommy when it comes to snuggles or who gets to put him to bed.  He loves to play with both sisters, and doesn't like them to leave.  He just started calling Matisyn by her name, although she is sometimes still "didi."  He still calls Emilyn, Emi.
• We say at least once a day "we love this kid!"  He really is fun to be around.  He is sweet and loving and into everything and just plain adorable.  We love him to pieces!
