The hot air balloons are our favorite 4th of July event. We decided to go see them on the Saturday after, since the actual 4th was so busy. They ended up only going up 1 out of the 3 days they were supposed to. We sometimes don't get to see them fly, but the best part is watching them blow up and cover the field anyway. Sadly, they didn't even blow up. The girls were pretty sad, and Lucas's first balloons were not very exciting. Luckily Smoky the Bear and the fire truck and life flight helicopter followed by Denny's breakfast with Mike, Wendy, Kenz, and Cass afterwards helped brighten their moods. We spent the rest of the day swimming at Grandma Barb's since it was our last day with Megan and the kids before we left for California and she headed back home.
