October 29-November 5
Week four was a tough one. Lucas became much more fussy, and it became more obvious that he does have reflux. We were really hoping to avoid this, but it wasn't to be! He cries and arches his back, spits up, and if you feel his tummy it is so tight. My milk is coming in fast and he chokes and gags sometimes so that probably isn't helping the reflux. We started medicine to see if that would help. They gave us Prevacid at first, but we couldn't get him to melt the tab in his mouth. We always ended up with more of it on our fingers. We switched after a week or so to liquid Zantac, twice a day, and that seems to be helping some. The best part of this week was that the stomach flu made a run through our house. Emilyn had it on Sunday, Matisyn got it in the middle of the night Wednesday (which happened to be Halloween, at least the girls had it on either side of the holiday so they didn't miss out), and I got sick in the middle of the night on Thursday (which happened to be my birthday). This particular week was a little bit of a blur because between being up with Lucas, up with sick girls, and being sick myself, I don't remember much! Luckily Matt and Lucas didn't get it. Other than that there has been plenty of candy eating and baby holding to fill up our days!
