Fieldtrip to the Fire Station, Nov 9

Matisyn took her first ever field trip with her preschool class to the fire station last month.  She was very excited and listened intently to the fire safety video.  Even before this she was always telling us about how to stop, drop, and roll, look for an exit, test the door with the back of your hand, firemen aren't scary, etc.  She must be listening in class because she remembers lots of good things to teach us.  The firemen got called out while we were there so the secretary took over, and was really great with the kids.  The firemen actually looked relieved to have a call to be honest!  Fires they are used to, four year olds, not so much!  Emilyn's behavior left something to be desired, but we made it through.  She wanted to be loud, and right in the middle of things.  Both girls had a great time, and Matisyn learned even more to teach us.

 Here is when Emilyn decided to be proactive about her interest in fire safety.  She wanted to be right down with the big kids, not on mom's lap.  If only she would have stayed there for more than five seconds at a time!
